PU based are suitable for reverse printing and lamination through gravure process on various films and lamination structures. These inks provide excellent bond strength and low solvent retention and can also be Toluene and Ketone free. These inks are suitable for PE extrusion lamination.
An ink containing a polyurethane (PU) resin of this type as a binder provides good adhesion and greater lamination strength, as compared with an ink containing other resins which provides an ink film having the same hardness.
In the absence of any standard definition for food grade or safe inks, many inks have been introduced for this purpose and are now prevalent in the market. The most common of which are Non-Toluene inks (NT inks) and Non-Toluene Non-ketone Inks (NTNK inks )
